About Saida

The third-largest city in Lebanon
Saida city, which dates back to over 6000 BC as indicated by all the archeological findings in Lebanon, was one of the earliest cities to organize festivals during Lebanon’s golden 50s and 60s till the mid-70s.

With the establishment of the Sidon International Festivals Committee in the 90s, Sidon enjoyed a series of artistic and cultural events with national, Arab, and international artists. In 2016, after an inadvertent pause, and with the backing of Saida’s residents and its local political figures, the Sidon Festival Committee “Made it Happen” and managed to hold a series of very successful concerts and events in the city.

This year they are inviting you to “Make it Happen Together…Again”! The city of Saida has all the ingredients that brand its uniqueness.
The major competitive advantage of Saida is its cultural and living heritage, especially the old city which is rich with ancient historical sites and archeological ruins.

Saida’s intangible heritage is also abounding with social, economic and artistic practices that are equally integral to its character and identity.
